Trigger Warning: “The Opening” deals with the relationship between theology and ethics. Often, we will be sharing quotes from pastors justifying abusive theology or ethics. Please listen with care.
In this episode, I read and discuss an article I wrote on August 4, 2020 entitled “Coronavirus summer highlights the best and worst in Christian camps.”
After reading the article, I discuss how the movies Pinocchio and Turning Red remind me of how Christian camps form human identity, what ex-evangelical parents are processing as they consider whether to send their kids to Christian summer camp or not, and how Christian summer camps could become a healthy place for kids to grow.
